Shared and Supported Independent Living - NSW
Shared and Supported Living or ‘SIL’ provides assistance for people with disability who need support so they can live the way they want to – either on their own or with other people.
This can include if you need support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or if you need more significant day-to-day assistance. Funding for Supported Independent Living is available from National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) as funded core support.
We can provide supports in your own home or in a private rental where you live independently. We can also provide supported in shared accommodation, where support is offered to a number of people with disability living together. Wherever you choose to live, we will listen to you and help you develop a plan that works towards your goals.
Your personalised plan will include support with:
- Moving out for the first time into shared accommodation or your own home
- Living well with others, or managing the responsibilities of living in your own home
- Getting ready for the day, staying healthy, and doing the things you enjoy.
Life Without Barriers has 2, 3 and 4 bedroom Shared and Supported Living houses located across NSW. We will work closely with you and other key people in your life, to make sure you feel great about the people are well matched with the people you live with and the people who support you.
